SILVIE PALADINO Live in Concert

Silvie Paladino is no stranger to the stage and The Cardinia Civic Concert Band is extremely proud and excited to present a series of concerts with Silvie to the Cardinia Shire. Performing live alongside this inspiring 70 piece band, and 50 piece children’s choir the concerts are definitely a must for your diaries in 2017.

Silvie Paladino, one of Australia’s most versatile and talented entertainers, will perform with the Cardinia Civic Concert Band and Chairo Christian School singers at the Cardinia Cultural Centre on the 22nd and 23rd of July at 7.00pm and 2.00pm respectively.

As part of the Cardinia Civic Concert Band’s annual concert series, the band will play a variety of symphonic music and will accompany special guest artist Silvie Paladino in a variety of numbers. The Chairo Christian School Singers with over 50 young voices will also feature as soloists for the concert, finishing the concerts with a massed item of over 130 musicians.

Silvie Paladino’s passion and love for music is evident in all that she does and these concerts are going to be a highlight in 2017. Having her first theatrical role as Eponine in the Australasian tour of Les Misérables at the age of eighteen, she was then invited to perform the role in the London production on the West End. In 1997, Silvie returned to London where she performed the role of Fantine in Les Miserables for a successful two-year season. Silvie will feature some of the songs from this epic musical.

Silvie’s other Australian credits include her one-woman show Silvie Paladino Sings Streisand (Green Room Award nomination),  Jeannie in Hair, Grizabella in the Australian and Asian tour of Cats, Ellen in Cameron Mackintosh’s Australian premiere of Miss Saigon, Donna in the smash hit Mamma Mia!, Rita in the world premiere of Sideshow Alley, Clara in Passion and for The Production Company: Lady Thiang in The King And I, Florence in Chess (Green Room and Helpmann Award nominations) and Jerry’s Girls.

The Cardinia Civic Concert Band having returned recently from their tour of Austria and Italy, will feature symphonic works performed as part of their overseas concert engagements and other toe tapping gems ensuring there is something for everyone at the concerts! Being the only Australian community band to ever be invited to perform at Schoenbrunn Palace Austria, where Mozart debuted, is a testimony to the quality of this ensemble.

Silvie has many other credits to her name however is probably best known to Australian audiences through her regular television appearances on Carols by Candlelight for the Nine Network. The band will accompany Silvie in some of the best known and loved hymns providing and inspirational and memorable event for all who attend.
