It’s been a couple of weeks since our concerts with Silvie Paladino, but we’re all still buzzing from the experience. The hard work from all involved leading up to it really paid off and the feedback all round has been fantastic!
Silvie was simply amazing. Not only is she an amazing performer, she was even kind enough to take on a song she’d never done before just to make things a little easier for us. You know what? I didn’t have a clue until she announced it. Everybody I spoke to – especially those that hadn’t ever heard her before – walked away saying, “wow, she can sing.”
The Chairo Christian School choir and accompanist were also a welcome addition. While we were treated to two pieces by the choir, it was really nice to have them filling out the sound of the band in supporting Silvie.
The band itself was excellent, too. I don’t know if it was all the extra practice sessions or just the added pressure of a professional singer, but everyone was at the top of their game. It was nice to hear complements and even surprise that we are more than “just” a community band.
Now, we’re working on our variety night in October, but our thoughts are already on next year’s concert. Hope to see you all there!
